ADAS Onshore Supervisors Course

12 day ADAS Onshore Supervisors Course: $3,300 inc GST

This supervisor’s course is designed to provide you with the appropriate training and competencies required to supervise diving work safely, when using surface supplied breathing apparatus.

The training and assessment on this course covers diver-related theory in a supervisory context.  The course includes the theory, background and practical skills of diving supervision.  Also included in the course are assessment of the planning and supervision of dives, and communication with dive teams.

The fundamental responsibilities of a supervisor under relevant OH&S law, including hazard identification and assessment of risk, and the management of diving emergencies, are specifically covered in detail.

Please note that this course will only provide training and certification on Aquaculture and for SCUBA, Onshore Part 2 and Part 3 diving operations.  We currently do not offer the training and assessment for the Offshore Air Supervisor so you will not be able to supervise Offshore Part 3 diving operations.

The course cost includes all course manuals and ADAS application and accreditation fees, as well as transportation to/ from the training site/ accommodation (conditions apply – speak to our Student Advisors for details).

Should you wish to complete and additional level of certification eg complete Parts 2 and Part 3 there is an additional cost of $290 inc GST

In order to attend our ADAS Supervisors Course you will require the following:

  • A letter of nomination from an employer must be supplied, which needs to be placed on your employers letterhead in the appropriate format.  This will then meet the ADAS requirements for the letter of nomination. Contact our Student Advisor for an example format if requuired.
  • Prior to a course, you must also complete the Onshore Supervisor Matrix Summary must be completed and returned to us.  All logbooks that support the information supplied on the Matrix should be supplied to us on day one of your course as the information supplied has to be validated.
  • English Language – It is a requirement that all students attending an ADAS course must have the ability to read and understand written and verbal communications in the English language and make themselves understood using English. To prove your ability ADAS requires all students from non-English speaking countries to undertake Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) testing and certification prior to commencing a course; visit the LLN website to register and for more details
  • All students who undertake nationally recognised training in Australia delivered by a Registered Training Organisation are required to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). This application process will take a few minutes to complete and is free of charge. For full details of how to obtain a USI, please click here.
  • Further Academic Qualifications. If you are intending to progress into higher level academic courses (e.g. Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Bachelor Degree) please read the attached document with regard the additional option of attaining the VET Certificate in addition to the ADAS certificate as part of your course here at The Underwater Centre.

  • Overalls (to protect your clothes)
  • Work clothes
  • A calculator, pen and paper (classroom work)
  • Work boots / safety boots
