Diving Courses

Training in the key skills required to work as a commercial diver

The commercial diving courses we offer here at The Underwater Centre, Tasmania, have been carefully developed to ensure that, as well as giving you the right diving certification required to work as a commercial diver, you’re trained in the key skills required to do the job.

First-hand knowledge of commercial diving operations and procedures

Our courses are delivered by instructors with experience of the commercial diving industry, so you’ll get first-hand knowledge of commercial diving operations and procedures; advice that will be invaluable throughout your career.

Fully preparing you for commercial diving work

When you’re working as a commercial diver, you are getting paid to do specific work.  Underwater work varies greatly and can include jobs such as scallop diving, inspecting oil pipelines or installing wind turbines offshore. It can also include scientists who dive as a part of their work or underwater construction workers who inspect and maintain ships’ hulls or harbour walls.  We have a range of packages and courses designed to prepare you for the work you’ll be doing.

Internationally recognised ADAS commercial diving qualifications

All of our commercial diving courses are certified by the Australian Diver Accreditation Scheme (ADAS).  ADAS certification is required when you work as a diver in Australia and is also internationally recognised, so will allow you to expand your career overseas.  All of our offshore ADAS commercial diving courses are recognised by IMCA under the IMCA International Code of Practice for Offshore Diving.
